7 Colognes for Girls Who Don't like Perfume ...

Do you prefer cologne for girls to perfume? I sure do. For the most part, most perfume fragrances give me awful headaches and they simply don't mesh with my body chemistry. So, for years, I've just been picking out my favorite colognes. Yes, they're technically male scents, but to my way of thinking, if a girl wears a particular cologne, then guess what? It becomes a cologne for girls! Mind, you might prefer perfume and my preferences might not be the same as yours, but take a look below, because you might just agree with my top cologne picks for the ladies.

Versace Man Eau Fraiche

Versace Man Eau Fraiche If you're looking for a fantastic cologne for girls, Versace has several wonderful options. Eau Fraiche is my favorite, however, thanks to its subtle sex appeal. It's almost like a perfume, but not quite. While you'll catch the fragrances of rosewood, musk, and amber, they're balanced by the masculine scents of lemon, cedar, and sycamore. It's incredibly evocative and very smooth.

Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio

Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio Acqua Di Gio is a very popular, very loved scent, for good reason. I always have some of this on hand, and have ever since the first time the Better Half brought it home for me to try. It, too, has feminine notes, if you don't want to make the jump to a completely masculine fragrance. It's light and breezy but also sweet, with mandarin, jasmine, and persimmon mixing beautifully with patchouli and rosemary. It's also pretty affordable; you can usually find a 1.7 ounce bottle for less than $70.00.

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Light Blue – which is only about $45.00 for a 1.3 ounce bottle – is another light, lovely scent. It brings to mind the ocean, it's all saltwater and fresh air. There are wonderfully sharp citrus notes due to mandarin and grapefruit, but there are also woody odors from the rosewood, musk wood, and oak moss. It's absolutely delicious!

Ralph Lauren Polo Blue

Ralph Lauren Polo Blue Polo Blue is my favorite cologne and has been for years. I actually bought a small sample on a whim and promptly fell in love. It's still my go-to scent, almost my signature! It's very … boyish, let's say, because it's not overpowering at all, and it lasts forever. The scent profile is like a list of all my favorite notes, including suede, basil verbena, patchouli, musk, and cucumber, just to name a few. If your dad, brother, or boyfriend wears this, swipe a few sprays for yourself. You'll fall in love, too!

5

Burberry Brit for Men

Burberry Brit for Men The BH just bought this for me on our 6 year anniversary. I've been wanting to try it forever, because I have a thing for Burberry and for plaid. I fell in love again! This scent actually seems to change the longer you wear it. The scents are beautifully textured, so the fragrance actually evolves on your skin. With notes like cedar, ginger, mandarin, musk, and nutmeg, it's completely elegant and wonderfully woody. It's also affordable, with a 1.7 ounce bottle costing about $57.00.

Bvlgari Aqva

Bvlgari Aqva I actually got Aqva because I was looking for colognes that smelled a little like Polo Blue. This was by far the top comparison, but that doesn't do it justice. It's in a class all its own. The scent profile itself is pretty simple: mandarin, grain, Santolina, amber, and Posidonia. However, mixed together, those notes work together in fresh, sexy harmony. Yum!

7

Givenchy Pi

Givenchy Pi Givenchy has a lot of colognes that work well for women too. I could choose any one of them, but Pi is easily my favorite. It is so seductive and wonderfully masculine, with woody notes that combine with rosemary and mandarin to create a fresh yet complex fragrance. Try it! Try it today!

You know, there's something to be said about androgyny. I figure, since I'm a girl, I wear cologne, I like ties, and I adore masculine cut fedoras, then those things aren't just for males. They're clearly for girls, too! If you love the way a certain cologne smells on you, don't avoid it just because it's made for men. That distinction doesn't mean it won't smell delicious on you, as well! So what about it, do any other girls prefer cologne to perfume? Don't leave me hanging!
