The Perfume Scents That Turn Men off ...

Something I have noticed for as long as I can remember is that when it comes to perfume and fragrances, men and woman have completely different ideas and opinions about what is hot and what is not! You know that cologne your man wears that he loves and you can’t stand, well, it’s pretty much the same thing on other side of the equation too! Just in case you were wondering, here are some of the main types of perfumes that turn men off.

1

Food Sweetness

On the whole, guys don’t really want their girlfriends to smell like the food that they eat! I’m talking about those scents that are so overwhelmingly sweet that you can detect notes of things like chocolate. The whole thing becomes too rich and sickly if you spend too much time in the vicinity of the fragrance. There is one exception to this rule, and it is vanilla. Vanilla is the acceptable face of sweet fragrances!

2

Strong Florals

There is nothing wrong whatsoever with a perfume that possesses a pleasant floral balance, but guys tend to turn their noses up at fragrances that are too overpowering with their flower based notes. Lavender, for example, might be something that you love, but for many men, it conjures up memories and images of their old grandmothers, which is the opposite of sexy!

3

Powder

The perfumed scent of baby powder is something that can turn a guy off in an instant. The reason behind this is that it reminds them of two other things before it reminds them of you, and that is baby’s bottoms and old people! If you want to make sure that your man is turned on by your scent, it’s best to stay away from something that’s going to send their mind elsewhere!

4

Fruity

Studies have been conducted to show that men tend to associate super fruity flavours with much younger ages. They see apple, orange, and strawberry notes almost as the scents that you first use when getting into perfume as a young teen, so it makes sense that conjuring images of a much younger child testing out perfumes might not provide the biggest turn on! Stick to more mature, more sultry types like sandalwood, rose, etc. if you want to keep him interested and turned on!
