I have such a thing for perfumes. I love them. In fact, in my bathroom, I typically have two, three … okay, four or five of them at any given time. The thing is, you have to be careful when you are buying perfume. Ladies, when you are buying a perfume from anywhere, how can you tell if it is a real or fake? Well, I'm here to tell you what signs to watch out for and what to look for. Trust me, girls, you don't want to get duped!
The packing can be real telling whenever you are dealing with perfume. You want to make sure that you look not only at the box but the actual plastic too. The quality of these things can make all of the difference and you should be able to tell if you have a real or a fake perfume on your hands!
The bottom of the box is crazy telling! Personally, I never thought to look at the bottom but when I did on my last 'Oh Lola' purchase, I was so surprised by the bottom! I had a fake and I didn't even know it. Check out the bottom of the box and I promise you'll be able to tell the difference.
I know, I'm getting a little obsessive now, right? If you read through the text on a real box of perfume, you'll see what I'm talking about. Fake perfumes will have fake text, will have text that doesn't make sense. Make sure you get something real and something worth it!
Ah, this one got me too! I was buying a Coach Poppy perfume and when I noticed that the shape of the bottle wasn't the beautiful round bottle that it is supposed to, I was disappointed. Don't be duped by this! You know what your bottles are supposed to look like, you know what the perfume is supposed to look like.
The nozzle head is a dead giveaway too. Typically, you are spending a lot of money on good, quality perfume right ladies? You know that they spend a lot of money making sure that the nozzles and the packaging look nice. If it is a fake perfume, the nozzle is going to look super cheap and could break really, really easily!
Now, I didn't know this but if the plastic wrapping is sealed in a very unattractive way or it has a lot of excess glue on it, it probably isn't going to be real. The wrapping of perfume that is genuine is always flawless, so keep that in mind whenever you are buying perfume!
Finally, leave it up to your nose! If the perfume doesn't smell right or it smells a bit like liquor, it isn't going to be real. Companies that design and sell perfume spend a lot of time perfecting their scent. If something is off, it can't be real!
