Why are some more beloved than others? Let’s take this international by looking at some of the most popular perfumes from different places all over the world.

1. United Kingdom
Although the trend in the UK for many years was a preference for sweet, citrusy florals like Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, it seems as though the Brits are starting to lean towards more unisex fragrances. The leading perfume of choice in the United Kingdom is currently Tom Ford Black Orchid, a heady, spicy scent that is magical for both men and women alike.
2. USA
According to data from Sephora, the USA is still very much in the category of soft, sweet, pretty fragrances, not venturing into the heady spice of their British cousins yet! The most popular perfume in the country is three-way tie between Chanel Chance, Coco Mademoiselle and Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb, all perfect examples of the sweetness and floral nature that Americans love.
3. Australia
They appear to like things very high end down under! Luxury fragrances are the ones that enjoy the most popularity in Australia, with things like Calvin Klein Euphoria consistently topping the rankings. There is a real shrinking interest in the mass scent market across the country.
4. Italy
Italian women love scents that feature strong floral notes; it might be cliché, but it serves them well! They love Chanel, Christian Dior and Dolce & Gabbana, but the reigning queen of the perfumes in the country is Calvin Klein’s classic CKOne.

6. United Arab Emirates
Middle Eastern preferences are the polar opposite of the Japanese. There is no such thing as too strong for the women of the United Arab Emirates, they love nothing more than to indulge in a fragrance that packs a real punch. Top of the charts recently has been YSL’s Les Vestiaires Tuxedo.
7. France
You might think that Chanel rules the roost in France, but that is actually not the case. The perfume that takes the top spot in the country of romance is Christian Dior’s J’Adore. A classic scent for a population of classy women!
BTW – my favorite perfume is Paris by Yves St. Laurent.
