7 Fragrant Rollerball Perfumes You Should Try ...

I love rollerball perfumes, simply because I’m not committed to buying big bottles of perfume that sit in my wardrobe barely touched! Perfume is such a personal thing and depending on my mood, the time of day, and season, I’ll interchange my scents. I tire easily of the same scent and therefore enjoy the idea of rollerball perfumes that travel so easily. They fit perfectly in my handbag, gym bag and I have one sitting on my desk! Most designer fragrances have their equivalent rollerball perfumes and here are some I think you should try.

1 Hanae Mori Butterfly Rollerball (Sweet)

This is one of those rollerball perfumes that is meant for the sweet, yet classy woman who loves life. Butterfly is one of my all-time favorite scents that I come back to time and time again. Hanae was the first Japanese designer to ever get admitted into the official world of French haute couture and this classic fragrance is the epitome of haute couture. It is well-balanced and captures sweetness, fruitiness and floral notes all in one! Priced at $20 you can find Hanae Mori at department stores as well as Sephora boutiques.

2 Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Rollerball (Floral)

If you’re a woman that is feminine, romantic or traditional, this fragrance is for you! Everyone knows the Viktor&Rolf ‘Flowerbomb’ fragrance, that launched in 2005 for its bold, floral scent. If you’re seeking a scent that transports you to your own secret garden, try it! Four fragrant flowers of jasmine, rose, cattleya orchid, and freesia all combine on a base note of patchouli. Priced at $29 you can find this at department stores and Sephora beauty emporiums.

3 Marc Jacobs Dot Rollerball (Fruity + Bold)

If you’re an energetic, bold woman looking for a statement fragrance, you’ll love this one! I’ve always been a fan of Marc Jacobs and this is his timeless, statement scent. The top notes (strongest scents) are red berries, honeysuckle and dragronfruit. The heart or middle notes of the fragrance include jasmine and coconut water, and the base notes are vanilla, driftwood and sensual musk. Priced at $24, you can find this at department stores and Marc Jacobs’ stockists.

4 Tory Burch Rollerball (Classic + Citrus)

If you’re a classic, yet relaxed kind of woman that loves Tory Burch’s designs, you should try her fragrance marketed via the giant cosmetic house, Estee Lauder (she signed a deal in 2012 to have them distribute her first fragrance in 2013). It’s a classic feminine scent, mixing top notes of floral peonies with fruity citrus scents like grapefruit and neroli and base notes of vetiver and sandalwood. I’d say it's equally bright and complex. Available from Tory Burch boutiques as well as department stores, priced at $25.

5 NEST Midnight Fleur Rollerball (Floral + Spicy)

If you’re an exotic woman who likes spicy, bold scents, this fragrance is for you! If you haven’t smelled it, you should. The top notes are oriental woods and herbs, jasmine and sensual vanilla orchid soften it up, and the base note of black amber rounds it out. Wear this one if you want to get noticed. Priced at $25 you can find it at department stores, NEST boutiques and Sephora.

6 Juicy Couture – Viva La Juicy Rollerball (Sweet)

If you’re a woman that likes the sophisticated charm of champagne and strawberries and everything decadent in life, this is for you! Viva La Juicy is a perfect combination of sugary caramel and praline, berries, creamy vanilla, and it's balanced out with gardenia, jasmine, and the heavy amber resin and frankincense oil. Priced at $22 you can find this at department stores and beauty emporiums like Sephora and Ulta.

7 Anna Sui Flight of Fancy Rollerball (Fresh + Fruity)

If you’re someone that opens your heart to every opportunity, you're energetic and young, Flight of Fancy is for you! The top of the larger perfume bottle is a peacock opening up its feathers. I think it looks beautiful, just like the fragrance. The fragrance doesn’t offend anyone as it’s gentle yet sweet. Top notes include fruits like lemon, lychee, yuzu, heart notes include magnolia, rose and freesia and base notes of musk, and warm, woody amber. Priced at $18, you can find this at department stores as well as Sephora and perfume outlets online like perfumania.com.

If you buy eau de toilettes and perfumes and they simply sit on your shelf after you've used them twice, it's worth buying a rollerball. They're perfect if you're always on the go, and they don't last as long as the big bottles, so you'll never tire of it. Which one of these rollerballs suits you and your personality?
