Ah, the 1990s – the decade of magic. Those of us who grew up in the '90s look back on it with such misty nostalgia, fondly remembering the music, the movies, and the makeup. Ask us and we'll happily tell you how awesome the '90s were and how almost everything was better. That's … not necessarily true, of course, but that's how we remember it. So in the spirit of nostalgia, let's take a look at some of the standout perfumes from the '90s, shall we? At the end, check off how many of them you wore!
This was the perfume you wore when you were working that preppy vibe. It somehow complimented your Delia's tops and your Abercrombie & Fitch shorts.
Sunflowers was the go-to perfume for girls who wanted to give off a bright, nature-loving, sunshine kind of vibe. Unfortunately, you usually just ended up smelling like a vat full of sunflowers.
Oh, I miss this, I admit it. White musk scents are always so soft and pretty.
Tommy Girl was kind of like Dream & Heaven, in that – in my high school, at least – the popular, preppy girls were always mad for it.
I admit, I hated this perfume. I still hate it. To be fair, however, it's only because a girl I despised wore it all the time. You hear that, Cassie? I still hate you.
This is what you wore when you wanted to feel oh so grown up and sophisticated. It always worked.
Freedom always made you think about the end of school. It managed to smell like late spring and early summer.
Anything Gucci was reserved for special occasions – prom, Homecoming, graduation. You didn't waste this stuff.
Tell me this didn't smell like youth in a bottle.
Everyone was mad for this, but I thought it smelled terrible. Still, Spice Girls! In the '90s, it was more about the status of having it than the actual scent. The body spray epitomized girl power, colorful outfits, and weekend sleepovers. Every mall had a corner dedicated to it, and it was almost a rite of passage to own. The packaging alone was a collector's item, adorned with the iconic faces of Baby, Sporty, Scary, Ginger, and Posh. Even if the fragrance wasn't your cup of tea, it instantly transported you back to the days of platform shoes and pop anthems.
My BFF wore this. I can never smell it without thinking of her.
Love's Baby Soft was THE perfume of the '90s, practically. It was also like My First Perfume because it was the only one your parents would let you wear at first. Remember when Love's came out with a whole line of these?
I still have a bottle of this hanging around somewhere. It's so old it probably doesn't even smell like One anymore, though.
True facts, I bought this for the name. Back when I still wore perfume, that is.
This is the one perfume that I still adore – it's so bright and fresh!
So, did you wear any of these? Miss any of them?
