11 Most Attractive Scents to Men That Will Bring Them to Their Knees ...

This time of year, women are either getting new perfumes for presents, or perhaps preparing for Valentine’s Day and in the spirit of things, I thought I would share with you the most attractive scents to men. Scent is one of the most powerful influences to everyone, especially men. Just think about how certain scents remind you of old boyfriends, your mom, your first house as a child, your favorite friend, or anything else. Scent is powerful and what scent you wear affects a good bit of things, including how your man perceives you. Sensual scents are more sexually appealing and seem more sophisticated, while floral scents are more tied to femininity, friends and elegance. Citrus scents are said to be more productive in the office, and specific flowers like gardenia are tied to charm and romance. When working for Estee Lauder once, I learned a good bit about what scents provoke what thoughts to people, and in the meantime, learned what the most attractive scents to men are. Check these out and pick out a perfume with these next time you buy one if you want your guy to drop to his knees in desire.

1 Vanilla

Vanilla is one of the most attractive scents to men, and to women actually. Vanilla is a natural aphrodisiac, libido enhancer, and it naturally lowers your stress levels. I always seem to be drawn to scents with vanilla, probably because they’re so entirely relaxing. Vanilla is one of the absolute best scents to choose if you want to display sensuality, comfort, warmth, and indulgence.

2 Sandalwood

Another one of my favorite scents in both men’s and women’s fragrances is sandalwood. It’s incredibly warming, sexy, romantic, and very relaxed at the same time. Sandalwood has a warming smell, which is inviting and which men find attractive. Pick out a scent with this and your man will undoubtedly comment on how great you smell.

3 Lavender

While I’m not a huge fan of lavender scents, men most definitely are. Lavender is rated one of the most popular scents with men, probably due to its relaxing properties. Lavender is a powerful mood relaxer, romantic scent, along with a comforting scent, which men are drawn to.

4 Musk

Musk is a scent that’s often used in both men and women’s fragrances. It’s much like sandalwood and vanilla in the fact that it’s very warming and sensual. Musk is also sexually appealing and has a romantic, indulgent side to the scent that almost everyone finds attractive.

5 Violets

Violets have such a lovely smell, and they are included in many women’s perfume for this reason. They signify romance, femininity, and also love. They’re also not too heavy or sharp like some citrus scents can be, and not overpowering like other floral notes can be at times.

6 Orchids

Orchids are one of my favorite scents, and they’re found in many women’s and men’s fragrance selections as well. Orchids have a light, warm smell, that’s similar to vanilla, but a bit more floral. They’re tied to romance, indulgence and elegance; all things men are most definitely drawn to.

7 Jasmine

Jasmine is a really popular scent with men. It’s a floral scent that’s not harsh like others can be, and it has a very light, romantic smell to it that’s quite lovely. Most women’s fragrances include jasmine and it pairs well with other essences in perfumes.

8 Orange

The scent of oranges is fresh, sweet and universally appealing, but it happens to be especially arousing to men. According to a study conducted by The Science of Smell, a group of 31 men aged 18-64 underwent testing testing to determine whether a certain scent increased penile blood flow. A number of scents produced a response like pumpkin pie and lavender, orange was a scent that produced a 19.5% increase in blood flow. Who knew such a simple citrus fruit would be so enticing to men?

9 Pink Grapefruit

I think pink grapefruit is one of the most refreshing scents around. Whenever I'm shopping for beauty products, I always seem to gravitate towards products that have a pink grapefruit scent and men seem to feel the same way. Although pink grapefruit isn't really a sensual scent, men felt that women who wore this fragrance were younger than their actual age. If you want to give off a young, fresh vibe, pick a perfume that contains this fruity fragrance.

10 Lily of the Valley

Lily of the Valley is a delicate flowering plant and its sweet, subtle scent is said to be quite irresistible to men. Floral scents are ideal for showing off your romantic and feminine side. Despite the fact that floral fragrances are thought to be the more innocent scents in the perfume family, they're still appealing to men and great for eligible bachelorettes.

11 Cinnamon

It might seem a bit odd that a spice like cinnamon is alluring to men, but scents that are related to food are actually some of the most popular. This is not to say that sprinkling cinnamon on yourself is going to get more dinner invitations, but instead look for perfumes that contain dominating notes of cinnamon. Both vanilla and cinnamon are thought to have aphrodisiac qualities so don't be afraid to get sweet and spicy!

Any time you buy a new perfume, decide what you’re wearing it for. Are you wearing it for the office, your friends, family, or your man? While you don’t need to buy a different scent for each group of people, it helps to know what scents are best to wear around men and which are best left for your day job. After all, we all relate smells to certain people, so make sure what you wear for your man doesn’t remind him of his mom or his secretary! What’s your favorite scents to wear around your man? Specific names of perfumes would be great, if you want to share those!
